Волгоградского генерала Попова с четвертой попытки выпустили из СИЗО


Сегодня, 15 июля, 235-й гарнизонный военный суд в Москве удовлетворил ходатайство следствия о смягчении меры пресечения генерал-майору Ивану Попову, экс-командующему 58-й армией ВС РФ, и отпустил его под домашний арест, сообщает V102.RU со ссылкой на суд. В СИЗО военный находился с середины мая этого года. Несмотря на то, что следователи и защита трижды ходатайствовали о смягчении меры пресечения генералу Попову, суд в этом им отказывал.
Сегодня четвертая попытка добиться изменения меры пресечения генералу, наконец, оказалась удачной. Заседание прошло в закрытом режиме.
Напомним, Иван Попов обвиняется в хищении почти 2 тысяч тонн металла, которые закупила администрация Запорожской области для оборудования инженерных сооружений. Ущерб, который вменяют военному, составляет чуть более 100 млн рублей.
Генерал-майор Иван Попов является уроженцем Волгоградской области. Он командовал 58-ой армией на СВО, после чего продолжил служить в Сирии.
